Stopped by the Big offices lately? If not, then now’s the time. Renovations on the building we call home are drawing to a close—just completed is a bright new exterior, and we have new signage to go along with it. You should pay us a visit and see if the facelift makes us look any younger.
If this is the first you’ve heard of the renovations, then you definitely haven’t been here for a while. A symphony of powertools with hammer percussion and random metallic clangs has been our soundtrack for the past few months. Now, though, for the most part, silence has returned to 9A West Grace Street. So what’s changed?

This particular cautionary tale is all over the web by now, but we have to help spread the word. You see, as big proponents of new media marketing in all its geeky, gadgety goodness, we feel compelled to share the darker side, too, in order to present a fair and balanced view.
Be forewarned, though. Dark sides don’t get much darker than this one. Or smellier.
Our tale begins with a 15-year-old girl walking down a Staten Island street. And, being a 15-year-old girl, she is not only walking, she is also texting. What she is not doing is looking where she is going. So where she ends up going is straight down an open manhole. And into the sewer.

If you’re Pat the Baker, purveyor of Ireland’s favorite bread, what do you do when you develop a new loaf specifically for toasting? You call up the ad agency bloom, in Dublin, which then cooks up a campaign featuring portraits of famous Irish writers, a campaign in which toast is not only the message, it’s the medium. Along with W.B. Yeats and Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde (above) is paid lightly scorched tribute, which brings to mind his maxim that “biography lends to death a new terror.”
